"This is your HOME Kiba ... remember that." -- At that moment, Kiba felt like he might literally combust beneath his current level of embarrassment so he simply nodded in response. -- "I gotta take a shower. Order me a pizza or somethin alright?" Kankuro said absently, his mind a million miles away. The carpenter then ambled out, leaving Kiba Inuzuka staring after him feeling completely bum rushed ... and strangely, happier than he'd felt in a long time. -- "What ... the hell ... was THAT." He whispered, mystified...)

C.1 - We Wait, If Only For This Invitation
(The fog had been thicker than usual that evening; dense clouds settling down from the heavens to shroud Konoha in their mystery. The start of Autumn always bode of nights like this one, as the humidity of Summer was slowly swallowed by the crisp cool air of Fall. That being said, the heavy fog wasn't far enough outside the ordinary to arouse anyone else's suspicion but Naruto knew ... like he always did. In that misty blanket he could hear the faint thrum of his own pulse beckoning him, he was helpless to resist its call. Within the remote glade to which the sound lead him, a single crow with eyes of blood red coolly contemplated the whiskered Ninja's arrival. Its steady crimson stare causing the pulsing echo within him to fall eerily quiet. Naruto's gaze followed the bird as it suddenly lit down from its perch, flying straight towards him like an ebony missile. Despite the trajectory he didn't move from its path; knowing well enough that impact would never come. As predicted, the raven passed through the Jinchuriki's chest and dispersed into nothing. Like a ghost giving proof of its intangibility the bird was only an illusion. Or more specifically ... an invitation. Naruto's heart skipped a beat at that realization. It always did whenever he received this signal. Almost as if up until that moment, it hadn't been beating at all. Just frozen within his chest, waiting on edge for a glimpse, a whisper, even a small taste of Sasuke's presence...)

C.00 - He Who Mends The Broken
(Kankuro survived well enough on the path he'd chosen. The young carpenter - known as 'Saba' around the Hill - enjoyed five nights a week at his boxing gym, kept a tight circle of good if eccentric friends, and maintained an active dating life. Though, since Kankuro had a habit of fleeing from any form of commitment like a bat out of hell ... the latter tended to consist of a small rotation of casual hook-ups. All of whom SWORE that if they stuck around they'd eventually claim the ruggedly handsome Sabaku as their own. Unfortunately for them, the tried and true bachelor had done several relationships in his time and long since decided that shacking up was for the birds. His straight friends often assumed dating as a gay man was some sort of nag-free sexual heaven. To which Kankuro clarified that whether your partner was a chick or a dude, as soon as people crossed out of the sex-friends zone "nag-free sexual heaven" eventually became the "calling constantly, checking through your phone behind your back, needy, jealous, withholding sex while demanding a key to your apartment" HELL of monogamy. And rather than endure that kind of torture, Kankuro chose to occupy himself with other far more pleasurable pastimes...)
